Farmers Market
In the farming industry, some development in states and cities positively and negatively affected their sales. Changes from how farmers got food from the field to the plate have happened organically over time (Taylor & Francis, 2021). The use of public spaces for buying and consuming food and vegetables began (Southworth, 2014) providing an alternative to buying food from restaurants or fast food establishments. But, after the change, food vans started showing up in places such as underutilized parking lots (Gustafson, 2015). Independent farmers and retailers use these vans to sell their food directly to the public without a go-between. Prepared foods are usually made on the spot where the people can buy and eat their meals in the immediate area. These recent trends have greatly influenced the farmers market since its inception (Taylor & Francis, 2021).
Farmers markets provide an option for the community to engage in the district. It gives a chance for the community to utilize undesigned spaces (Southworth, 2014). Vendors at the farmers market can introduce new design elements in the space to attract the community. The appearance of new vendors’ stands would allow for the products and food to stand out. (Gustafson, 2015).
