Interactive Art
Projection mapping is a medium that caters to bringing all these elements used to define the district and combining them into one public art installation that can make revenue for the city. Projection mapping would strengthen the connection between Covina residents and their awareness of the physical environment. Stronger bonds between residents and their neighborhood would encourage greater civic participation and pride.

Digital Wall Projection
Digital wall projection is an innovative approach to public art for the district given that it utilizes existing buildings and interior spaces to create a canvas for the projections. Digital wall projection (or projection mapping) uses video projectors to display objects onto a surface. There are different styles and types of display which can create the illusion of turning inanimate objects alive. These projections use everyday objects as its canvas, allowing the artist to create their vision in an ordinary space. The displays could be as complex as using the entire building, or as simple as using just a few colors and shades to help enhance the space. Using the space around you, projection mapping can become a tool for advertising, transforming the environment, and projecting artistic displays of art. The graphics can create an opportunity for marketing or simply as a means of artistic expression.
Wall Murals
Wall murals are able to be in places that are in highly visible locations and are accessible in nature when considering the location. Murals can be placed on either public or private property, which are referenced in the guidelines that are addressed in the CTCSP. Among the examples that are provided, wall murals are one of the mediums the city is looking to consider for the district. Apart from meeting the art guidelines for the district, wall murals can also serve as a form of wayfinding for visitors.
The team’s vision for wall murals is to implement them along the MetroLink Station to beautify the area and attract visitors. They can also function for alleyway beautification, which is also mentioned in the specific plan, which would promote more connectivity throughout the district.
